What is Attar?

Attar (or Ittar, as it is sometimes called) is the name given to a perfume product derived from natural sources. Fragrances are extracted from botanic material using pressure, hydro or steam distillation.

Flowers, herbs, spices and other material are distilled into wood base oils like Sandalwood or Jojoba. These essential oils are capable of absorbing and storing aroma.

Finally an aging process ensures the base oils capture the attar’s fragrance giving it longevity. This process means you only need to apply a small quantity directly on your skin to encapsulate you in a delightful aroma for hours.

Read our “How to apply Attar?” Article for more details on how to enjoy AttarMist products.

At AttarMist you will find a variety of Attor (plural of Attar) to suit your taste and pleasure. Our High quality Oudh, for example, are derived from the agar wood plant. Khus and Majmua are examples of our vetiver based products.
